A few people we’re most thankful for this holiday season – aside from you, of course

Before you go about setting your yard ablaze with the turkey fryer this Thanksgiving, we at RESOLUTE want to shine some light on a few of our “Hooch Homies” who help keep the taproom running during this crazy holiday season. We are insanely grateful for the crew we have built over these first fifteen months, and firmly believe each member contributes their own unique personalities, innovative ideas, and distinctive skillsets. Without these crazy cats, we would be as useless as a frozen bird on Thanksgiving morning!

To provide you with a further glimpse into the minds of these jive turkeys, we put together a brief questionnaire chock full of nonsense and 90s references for your pre-holiday entertainment pleasure:

LUKE K.

Pouring since been pouring since been pouring.

  1. What are you grateful for this holiday season? Peace, love and fermentation.
  2. Beatles or Stones? Biggie or Tupac or Old Dirty Bastard? Why? Beatles. John and Paul can sing rock n’ roll…but imagine Mick’s version of “Let It Be”…nope! Also, Biggie…Christopher Wallace’s mastery of the American idiom would have intimidated Faulkner.
  3. A couple beers you plan on knocking back on Thanksgiving with friends and family? How about booze? I’m not sure what kind, but the two best ones are the first one in front of football and the one that you get to take a sip of to avoid that uncomfortable question.
  4. Do you know where Richard Simmons or Rick Moranis are hiding? Favorite Rick Moranis Movie? Bangkok. Bangkok has them now. Spaceballs, and if you disagree, we will have an old Jamaican stick fight. And I. Would. Win!
  5. Any ideas on how to fix the ailing Denver Broncos? Should we bring in Rick Moranis as Head Coach? Ditka. We can’t afford Frederick Allen Moranis.
  6. Volcano or Dante’s Peak? Dante’s Peak. It’s Thanksgiving, so you gotta save grandma.
  7. How do Hazy IPAs make you feel? Confident, but with a secret.
  8. Favorite Rocky movie? (Trick question, Rocky IV is the best, all other answers are wrong and you’re probably a Communist). Fact.
  9. Pegasus vs Sasquatch – Who wins this mythical battle? Sasquatch. Cuz he’s real. Helloooooooo!
  10. Hobbies? Majestic Triceratops rides on the savanna, finding the perfect yellow M&M, collecting pogs.
  11. MC Hammer or Vanilla Ice? Trick question…Snow…INFORMER!!!!!!

LOGAN S.

Little known fact: Loves the USA and finally grew a beard this year.

  1. What are you grateful for this holiday season? Second chances.
  2. Beatles or Stones? Biggie or Tupac or Old Dirty Bastard? Why? Beatles – making crosswalks famous since 1969. Also, Tupac – nothing but respect for someone that takes care of momma!
  3. A couple beers you plan on knocking back on Thanksgiving with friends and family? How about booze? WHISKEY! And whatever beers are at the gathering.
  4. Do you know where Richard Simmons or Rick Moranis are hiding? Favorite Rick Moranis Movie? Rick Moranis is hiding in the halls of epic fatherhood.  The Flintstones takes the cake for me.
  5. Any ideas on how to fix the ailing Denver Broncos? Should we bring in Rick Moranis as Head Coach? The only way to fix the Broncos, at this point, is to trade up, cut, rebuild!  Get what you can for DT, and get higher draft picks.
  6. Volcano or Dante’s Peak? Dante’s peak.
  7. How do Hazy IPAs make you feel? Drunk, if I drink enough of them.
  8. Favorite Rocky movie? (Trick question, Rocky IV is the best, all other answers are wrong and you’re probably a Communist). If I said that I’ve finished watching a single one of them, I’d be lying.
  9. Pegasus vs Sasquatch – Who wins this mythical battle? Pegasus. Swooping hoof to head repeatedly wins… no question.
  10. Hobbies? Gaming, learning something new every day, and gaming. www.twitch.tv/abedrincoln (also, pewpew).
  11. If you were forced to eat one food item every day for the rest of your life what would it be? Original crust, supreme/the works pizza (because I could pick off the stuff I didn’t want to eat that day and keep my options open).

NICO C.

Now offering shredding services (he can melt faces on guitar).

  1. What are you grateful for this holiday season? I’m thankful to have a great work environment, to have financial stability, a healthy relationship, an abundance of friendship, and for my family to be in good health. Simple things, but the simplest things are the most important to cherish.
  2. Beatles or Stones? Biggie or Tupac or Old Dirty Bastard? Why? I’m going to go with Rush and Led Zeppelin over the Beatles/Stones and A Tribe Called Quest and Outkast over Biggie/Tupac. Those bands shaped my rock/hip hop experience growing up.
  3. A couple beers you plan on knocking back on Thanksgiving with friends and family? How about booze? Lots of German beer, some glüwine, and maybe some Romanian hooch.
  4. Do you know where Richard Simmons or Rick Moranis are hiding? Favorite Rick Moranis Movie? Simmons is probably lost in his own hair right now. Moranis simply shrunk himself to go look for him and was never seen again. Favorite Moranis movie definitely goes to Spaceballs.
  5. Any ideas on how to fix the ailing Denver Broncos? Should we bring in Rick Moranis as Head Coach? I think a humbling season is what they need to realize that working hard to get to the top doesn’t mean that you can stop working as hard once you make it to the peak. And no, Moranis would just shrink the team.
  6. Volcano or Dante’s Peak? That’s more a question of Pierce Brosnan vs. Tommy Lee Jones, and the correct answer is always going to be Bill Paxton in Twister.
  7. How do Hazy IPAs make you feel? I could say a lot about it, but to keep it short and sweet, I think they’re a fad that have made a lot of breweries some serious money by capitalizing on the hype. It’s ‘The Macarena’ of beer styles.
  8. Favorite Rocky movie? (Trick question, Rocky IV is the best, all other answers are wrong and you’re probably a Communist). It’s definitely Rocky IV.
  9. Pegasus vs Sasquatch – Who wins this mythical battle? I’m a firm believer in The Sasquatch. A flying horse is just silly.
  10. Hobbies? Cooking and touring are my life outside of the brewery with the occasional side of wanderlust.
  11. Favorite Bond? Favorite Batman? Definitely Sean Connery and Christian Bale.

ANNE M.

Trainer by day, some sort of superhero by night.

  1. What are you grateful for this holiday season? My health, great friends and family.
  2. Beatles or Stones? Biggie or Tupac or Old Dirty Bastard? Why? None. Nebraska Sunrise Radio, Beyoncé and Ray Lamontagne. I’m all over the place.
  3. A couple beers you plan on knocking back on Thanksgiving with friends and family? How about booze? Anything from Kinkaider Brewing Company out of Broken Bow, Nebraska!
  4. Do you know where Richard Simmons or Rick Moranis are hiding? Favorite Rick Moranis Movie? Who’s Rick Moranis?
  5. Any ideas on how to fix the ailing Denver Broncos? Should we bring in Rick Moranis as Head Coach? One word. Peyton.
  6. Volcano or Dante’s Peak? Neither. Twister.
  7. How do Hazy IPAs make you feel? Not really something I seek out.
  8. Favorite Rocky movie? (Trick question, Rocky IV is the best, all other answers are wrong and you’re probably a Communist). Agreed. Warrior is a recent favorite fighting movie.
  9. Pegasus vs Sasquatch – Who wins this mythical battle? Griffin!
  10. Hobbies? Collecting glass figurines of porcupines and rainbow jumping.
  11. Favorite Thanksgiving tradition? Turkey carcass beer bong! That’s how we get down in Nebraska!

Now that you’ve been formally introduced to some of our awesome Hooch Homies, we want to remind you all that Resolute’s taproom is closed on Thursday, Nov. 23, so our crew can enjoy time with family and friends. We’re back at it on Black Friday with a special tapping of the Vanilla Chai Brown at noon ($12 and you get to keep the spiffy new Craft Master Grand glass by Rastal!) and live tunes, courtesy of Scarecrow Revival, from 5-7 p.m.

Happy Thanksgiving from Resolute!!!
